I am off to Vietnam for the second time.  Chris, a friend of mine is visiting Vietnam for his sisters wedding.  After my last trip, he thought I had seen more of his country than him. And wanted me to join him to explore new places. 

A international trip to places I haven't seen before?  A native Vietnamese speaker?  I don't need to be asked twice.  

In less than two weeks this all came together. I had my doubts but here I am on United's flight 867 sitting on the upper deck of the 747 on my way to Vietnam.

Time was short in preparation and I am note sure where I am headed but my tour guide assured me it would be interesting.  We will start in Saigon, go through the Mekong Delta, end up on Phu Quoc Island before flying into Da Nang to go to Hoi An.  Then down to Nha Trang before heading back to Saigon.   

This web-blog may be more focused on travel stories than historical importance as I wasn't going for historical importance but rather beach and countryside.

Who knows what will happen!  Should be fun and it starts with a long flight which I upgraded myself to business class.  Not a bad start and when I arrived, I checked into the Spring Hotel.
